Hi my name is Tommy Tourdot and I want to create a fundraiser for my nana and papa Betty and Roger Tourdot. My papa is a fighter, he has battled cancer, Triple bypass on his heart, and plenty more. My papa has been at the Mayo Clinic since February 24. He had 7 surgery’s in 7 days. One of those on March 8th, they took another one of his toes. Then on the March 18, they amputated his right leg just under the knee. It is getting expensive for food and to stay up here for my nana to stay in the hotel because she is not allowed to stay in the hospital. My nana and papa are the nicest people I know they would do anything to help someone. And now they need help with this. Anything would help them.
They are in need of a LOT of prayer fighting hard for Papa’s life… the journey started on February 24th….he is started in the E.D. was in in intensive care vascular Saint Mary’s Hospital mayo clinic Rochester Minnesota. He’s had a lot of setbacks this time. To make a long story short he’s had a heart attack the 2nd day they were there my Nana was there or he probably would have choked on his vomit. He does have some heart damage from that on his left lower lobe. They found his atery and vein had a disconnect in his leg that wasn’t allowing blood flow to go to his foot and it was going back to his heart so he went in for a minor surgery for that and a blood clot to dislodged so they had to stop that surgery…. So the next day they went back in and they got one coil to go through and repaired one of the veins and arteries in the leg. And then he got compartment syndrome and had to be rushed down for more surgery to give him a Fasciotomy This is a very painful procedure.
On March 20th Roger/papa was moved to the Methodist Hospital in Rochester Minnesota. He will be there for 30 to 40 days because they have this hyperbaric oxygen therapy which will help promote healing and tissue damage repair And repair blood oxygen flow to his body. He will get two hours of therapy each day. If it goes better than planned he will get out faster but Dr said this would be his best success for healing Then they will have to wait till he heals in order to get a prosthetic legs he will have to come back up and get fitted and two weeks of rigorous therapy to help him walk again.
