If a quote could describe our dear friend Susanna Carreon, it would say: ”Always aim high, work hard, and care deeply about what you believe in. And, when you stumble, keep faith. And, when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.” – HRC.
As a fearless, determined wife, mother, grandmother and passionate Victims Advocate, Susana embodies the word “fight”. By day Susana is 25-year-veteran and Sexual Assault Victims Advocate for the Dallas County DA’s Office, handling complex cases that not just anybody is willing or able to handle. By night, Susana moonlights as a superhero. Bet you didn’t know this about Susanna!
She started life all over again in her late years, when she took on the heavy task of raising three of her grade-school age grandkids. Our friend and real life superhero, Susana handles everything, from work to home with much compassion, diligence, love and care, and she hardly ever says no to anyone who asks her for help, both at work and at home.

Our friend and colleague Susanna is selfless and thinks of everyone before she thinks of herself, but now she needs our help! Susanna cannot wear her capes as usual, because her world, her routine and her life were completely changed on March 29, 2019 as she was unexpectedly diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer. As you would expect, this devastating news hit hard. She has been told by the doctors that her treatment will consist of five months of aggressive chemotherapy. Still, our fearless friend is not one to give up, give in or as our opening quote says “not go on.” If you know anyone, and unfortunately most of us do, who has had or has any type of cancer, you know how not just your life, but the lives of those around you, get turned upside down. Help us help a superhero in doing all that we can as colleagues and friends: 1) if you pray, she needs you! Please pray daily, because God can work miracles. 2) If you have been blessed financially and feel moved to help, please donate some of your blessings to Susanna’s fundraiser, to help with the burden she and her family will be facing.
