[UPDATE 5/17]

Andrew was transfered to a skilled nursing facility today. He will remain there for many weeks as he is unable to care for himself independently. He should also be starting physical therapy shortly.

Andrew's story was featured on our local News Station, WATE this evening. It was part of a segment highlighting the importance of motorcycle safety. You can watch it here: https://www.wate.com/news/top-stories/after-son-nearly-dies-in-crash-east-tennessee-mother-urges-drivers-to-look-twice-for-motorcycles/

[Original]

On the night of May 7th 2024, my brother was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. While we are so grateful he survived, he was awoken to every hard working, blue-collar father's nightmare. He learned that he had broken both of his legs and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future.

Andrew is a talented tradesman in the area of home remodeling. As the father of 3 and the "Bonus Dad" to 3 more, he has worked HARD as the sole provider for his family, and has never once asked for help. I can only imagine the fear he is experiencing at the prospect of not being able to provide and losing everything.

He has a long road to recovery. After the first round of surgery to repair his legs, he may be looking at another in the near future. He will be confined to a wheelchair and will need 24/7 care for a minimum of 6 weeks. He is unable to even attempt to walk for a minimum of 8 weeks.

He is living one of the greatest fears many of us have, "What will happen if I get sick or have an accident..." I hope that we are able to collectively band together to help take the pressures of everyday life off of him so he can focus on healing and getting better and not worried sick about bills.

If you're able to contribute anything to help him through this difficult time, I know it would mean the world to him and the rest of us that love him. It's my hope that at his lowest we can help keep him on his feet until he is able to stand on his own again.

Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, and generosity .
