In Loving Memory of Joseph Campbell

Joseph "Joe" Campbell, born on May 31st, 1988, was a devoted father, loyal friend, and hardworking man who tragically passed away on the evening of September 5th, 2024. Joe was working on the roof of a building when he suffered a fatal fall, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and five beautiful children: JoJo (16), Lacey (12), James (9), Jakey (7), and Lillian (5). His sudden passing has left these children as orphans, having lost their mother, Heather, to cancer just three years ago. The children, heartbroken from the loss of their mother, were still healing when this unimaginable tragedy struck.

Joe's deepest wish was to provide a better life for his children—away from the hardships of Flint, Michigan. He dreamed of giving them a home of their own, a place where they could grow up safe, surrounded by love and opportunity. He worked tirelessly toward that goal, determined to fulfill the promise of a brighter future for his kids.

As friends of Joe, we are stepping in to honor his wishes and take on the responsibility of helping his children. We are in the process of establishing a trust, with one of his nearest and dearest friends, Pat Leavitt, being appointed as trustee. The trust will serve the benefit of these five precious children who have already endured so much in such a short time.

Our goal is simple: to help with the immediate needs of the family in the funeral process and to provide as much as we can for these 5 children with everything they need as they navigate the difficult years ahead without their parents. We aim to raise enough funds to support their daily needs, educational pursuits, and most importantly, to fulfill Joe's dream of securing a home for them—a home outside of Flint, where they can find peace, stability, and a fresh start.

As friends and brothers of Joe, we are dedicating ourselves to be trustees and God parents to these children for as much and as long as they may need.

Joe Campbell was not only a father but a man who believed in the power of community, resilience, and love. His passing leaves a void that will never be filled, but his spirit lives on through his children and in the hearts of those who knew him. As we come together to support these kids, we carry Joe's dream forward, making sure they are surrounded by the same love and care that he would have given them.

The funeral date and location is not yet decided as this tragedy happened just last night 9/6/24. As soon as details are provided we will update this post.
