For the Family of Archie Guzman
At his trial, Socrates was quoted as saying, "no evil can happen to a good man, in life or in death." I believe with absolute certainty, Archie Guzman to have been the epitome of a good man! While his death brings us pain and sorrow, let the way he lived his life serve as a roadmap for his family and friends who loved him so.
Archie's heart was pure and overflowing with love for his wife, Rosa and his children, Ashley and Ethan. He was undoubtedly a family man and a man of principle. Archie was without a doubt one of the most hospitable people I have ever known. He offered his assistance before you knew you needed it. He was a true friend who always gave more of himself than he ever asked for.
As such, Archie found a calling in public service; first as a reserve firefighter in Los Angeles County and eventually as a Public Safety Dispatcher with the Garden Grove Police Department. Archie's work ethic, personality, and demeanor played a huge role in him being promoted to Dispatch Supervisor in August of 2015. Archie took great pride in his career and could handle even the most stressful situations with ease.
Archie's quick wit and humor were unmatched. He had a laugh that was infectious and a smile that could brighten up the darkest of days. If Archie was involved, a good time was had by all.
Archie was an avid music lover, and novice musician. He used to play the conga drums and recently began taking upright bass lessons. Between his family, his career, and music, it's hard to believe there was time for Archie to do anything else. He made the time to adhere to a strict physical training regimen that consisted of strength training, distance running, cycling, and swimming. Still, with a full plate in front of him, Archie always made sure his family and friends were a priority. That is just who he was.
Writing about how good of a man Archie is beyond difficult. Trying to describe a man who lived such a full life in a few paragraphs seems like a disservice. Archie, you were loved deeply. You were a good man and a shining example to many. You will forever be missed.
