For the Family of Laki Skouras

Donation protected
Laki Skouras passed away Easter weekend after losing a hard battle with cancer. The cancer diagnosis came unexpectedly on Father's Day weekend, just ten months ago.

He leaves behind three sons, a daughter, a loving wife and a beautiful granddaughter. Tragically, the family suffered the loss of a newly born grandson the week before Laki passed away.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help the family with the financial burden they have taken on during this difficult time.

Laki and his wife, Tonie, recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in their home. Tonie has been a healthcare professional for more than 20 years, including hospice and end-of-life care. A very tough career.

Tonie and their son, Justin, both took an extended leave of absence from their jobs to provide in-home care for Laki while he was on hospice for several months, which depleted the family's savings. Laki wanted to be home and his family never left his side.

With all of the years of experience, knowledge and skills Tonie had developed throughout her long career of helping people and taking care of them, this was by far the most difficult task she had ever faced, while simultaneously dealing with the loss of her grandson and a grieving family.

Every penny from this fundraiser will go to Tonie – a grieving widow, mother and grandmother – to help pay bills, put food on the table and keep the lights on.

The Skouras family is deeply grateful for all of the love and support they have received and for your help with this fundraiser. Thank You!

A Glimpse Into The Life of Laki Skouras…

Laki was born in Chicago on September 3rd 1963, the oldest son to Diana and Spiro Skouras. Laki took after his father and developed a love for music at a young age. He also took after his mother and had a big heart.

At seventeen years old, Laki joined the military and served four years in the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Sergeant.

After retiring from the military as a new father to his firstborn son, Laki pursued his passion for music and began to play professionally in Chicago.

In the year 2000, Laki, now a father of two sons and a brand-new baby daughter, moved his family to Tucson, Arizona where he and Tonie would raise their young and happy family.

It didn’t take long for Laki to begin to play music professionally in Tucson; and after more than twenty years he was a well-liked and respected part of the community, loved by many.

Laki loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved to sing and play the guitar. He was the type of man who stood up for what he believed in – and if you ever needed help, Laki was the one to call.

We love and miss you! We will never forget you!
