For the love and health of our horses

For 117 years, Tally-Ho Carriage Tours has been an iconic part of Victoria, BC, helping showcase our amazing city to visitors and providing a community connection with our beautiful draft horses.
Out of care and concern for public health, and respect for physical distancing due to the COVID-19 crisis, we suspended operations effective March 19, 2020. Due to subsequent travel and border restrictions causing a complete shut-down to tourism for the foreseeable future, the harsh reality: our business will experience 12 months or more of zero income.
Help us keep our horses healthy during this difficult time
Our 18 magnificent draft horses are the heart of the Tally-Ho business and are family: they live with us and have been our daily partners through life. Our goal is to keep them stay home with us and their herd-mates, where they will continue to receive top-notch care. But after laying off all staff and cutting all non-essential costs, our small, family-run business is still facing a significant shortfall of over $95,000 (amount reduced from $120,000 due to lowered prices on hay and donations received outside of this GoFundMe campaign!!) to maintain quality horse care over the expected course of COVID. Our savings will not cover the horsesˊ feed, foot care, veterinarian care, shelter and base needs for long. Only one of the Federal assistance programs applies to our situation and, if we qualify, it will only be enough to cover some non-horse care business expenses.
Our horses need your support – please donate now!
1. Sponsor a Tally-Ho horse – pick your favorite! $600/month
2. Adopt the Tally-Ho herd for a day! $350
3. One regular vet visit – an important check-up! $200
4. One farrier visit – time for toes! $100
5. One bag of grain – super food for horses! $20
Our goal is to reach the $95,000 our horses need - every dollar helps!
100% of all support will be dedicated to the best possible horse care at our farm on the Saanich Peninsula (feed, farrier, veterinary, shelter, and ad hoc horse necessities). We will post regular text and video updates to keep you informed of how our herd is doing and how your money is helping them.
We remain hopeful that the COVID-19 crisis passes faster than anticipated and if we are able to resume operations sooner we will forward all unused donations to other equine causes in the province of British Columbia.
Our hearts are with everyone during this very stressful time. Please keep safe, stay healthy and take care of your loved ones!
