The Jill Lindsey Store Relief Fund
(Community and Neighbors)
$95,000
On March 16th, Jill Lindsey was required by New York State to close her doors indefinitely to aid in the reduction of the spread of COVID-19. It was a devastating decision, but in order to protect the health of her team, her customers and the broader Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Communities, Jill was left with no other choice.
What Jill Lindsey has created and cultivated in our community is nothing short of extraordinary.
Her kindness, relentless optimism, community outreach and jammed packed monthly calendars have touched all of us over the past six years. From personalized health and wellness sessions to comedy and talent nights, supper clubs, daily exercise classes, children’s sing alongs, knitting circles, and entrepreneurial seminars and talks, Jill’s store is continually evolving and has become an essential and cultural heartbeat in our Fort Greene and Clinton Hill neighborhoods.
Her ability to connect others, support local emerging designers and shine a light on important issues such as the Tillary Street Women’s Shelter - all in an evolving retail culture that has shifted towards online sales, makes this a critical time to support her mission and ability to open her doors again.
The survival of Jill Lindsey is dependent on being able to get external funding. In sitting down with her and discussing what three months to six months looks like, and what funds are needed in order to keep things afloat - from covering rent, utilities, staff, inventory, license renewals, and lost revenue due to Covid-19 she will need to raise $95,000 in order survive and recover from this pandemic.
Any amount you can donate would be so gratefully appreciated. Thank you!
