FOR THE LOVE OF MONTY
2015 we were given the privilege of adopting a beautiful boy called Monty. He was rescued from a desperate situation by Linda and Maureen Of New Beginnings Cat Rehoming. He had been left lonely, hungry and desperate when his previous owners left him when they moved away. Thankfully he was found and rescued then eventually delivered into our hands. He has brought us endless, unconditional love with his beautiful, quirky personality. He loved nothing better than resting in the sunshine and enjoying life to the max.
6 weeks ago Monty became unwell which led to a few days in critical care. He was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. He was in early stages and managed with medication. We were so relieved he was still with us. However 10 days ago he started decreasing his food intake and his behaviour started to change. After 2 visits to the vets again we were told it was his teeth, however on Friday evening of the 11th December he started to deteriorate rapidly. He yowled and had stopped eating completely.
The next morning after a restless night we watched the last sunrise together before we visited the vets for the final time. I knew in my heart we were saying goodbye but had to get a final analysis. His organs were shutting down. He was in pain and exhausted. We said our final goodbyes to our beautiful boy.
My heart has been ripped into a thousand pieces. The love I felt for my boy was more powerful then Ive had with any human. My emotional and spiritual connection was like nothing Ive ever felt. What I would give to stroke those cheeks again and watch is face smiling back at me.
I dont want him to be forgotten and I feel the legacy he leaves behind is of kindness and help to other unfortunate cats. New Beginnings delivered him into our hands and we will be eternally grateful to them. Our hearts are broken but we would go through it all again if we had our time again with Monty.
I want to raise much needed funds to purchase a heated pen/shed for cats that come into care and are taken out of danger and cared for until they find their forever home. It will be in Monty's name and a fitting reminder of what he stood for. His name will go on to helping other helpless creatures who were as desperate as Monty.
Please help me raise funds to get this tribute to my beautiful boy together. I want him to live on in helping his own kind achieve their dreams of finding the puurrfect life.
