Urgent appeal for the old ones

We need your help urgently.

We are so proud that FRIEND is coming up to her 30 years this year of offering a forever home to so many abused and neglected farmed animals. Many of our residents have lived their entire lives here in peace and they now need us more than ever to be there for them.

Please help us do the very best for our very best.

In a World where youthfulness is celebrated it's easy to forget the majestic wonder of the older ones.

These are the ones we care for every day. They're all so full of character, so full of softness, the ones who beat all the odds to reach old age in the peace of Sanctuary.

As age comes, so does the need for greater levels of tender loving care.

We have many residents on regular medication now for the physical symptoms that comes with advanced age.

We need regular assessments from our Vet team to make sure we are doing the very best for them all.

Extra straw to create deep beds to ease joint pain and extra feeds to boost immunity and wellbeing.

This all stretches our limited finances to breaking point. We are in crisis now and we cannot pull through without your help.

How can you help ?

We are asking for an urgent sum of £8000

☆ For Medicine

☆ For regular Veterinarian assessment visits.

☆ For end of life care.

☆ For extra feed and bedding

These much needed funds will hopefully see us through the coming colder months.

It is our promise and our duty to give the very best care to our residents here at FRIEND throughout every stage of their lives.

When all we have tried has not stopped the pain and their quality of life has declined, in consultation with our Vet, we have to make the hardest decision of all , to finally let them go.

This is always such a hard decision and yet we remind ourselves it's a honour to pass with peace and dignity surrounded by love in this World.

We are always there with them every step of the way.

So there's no fear only the most peaceful transition.

They are all our family : they deserve the very best right to the end.
