For You, Makayla & Alyssa

The sudden, senseless killing of two beautiful young souls, Makayla R. Martin (11yrs old) and Alyssa Whitfield (6yrs old) who were cousins, have left the family of two sisters, Danielle Gaines and Brittney Whitfield devastated. They were shot and killed by Makayla's step-father. Makayla's mother, Danielle was also shot, but survived. Her son Joshua was also targeted and thankfully escaped. He is currently with his father, Gabriel Martin, who is also the father of Makayla. A home of domestic violence is no home for anyone. The lives of this family will forever be changed. Makayla & Alyssa were bright and playful little girls. Joshua (16yrs old) who is a reserved, caring person loved both of them dearly. Danielle who went through so much, will have wounds that will be a constant reminder of the horrific events that occurred on that day by someone they loved and trusted. As a friend and neighbor who helped them, along with my husband during this altercation on March 12, 2022, I know that both sisters are going to need monetary support for funeral expenses, having both children sent out of state to the family plot at the cemetary, moving out of their homes, and medical expenses. Both funerals will be very soon and the sisters & Joshua will be moving out of their homes this month, so it is of the utmost importance that donations are received quickly. I am requesting donations on behalf of both sisters, Danielle and Brittney, as well as their family. The emotional support from the community has been overwhelming and amazing.
