Alaina Rowe McLeod & Feyla Rose Fire Victim Fund
This page was created to support Alaina's
husband Zack Mcleod after Alaina and
Feyla’s unthinkably tragic deaths. It
happened on September 27, 2020 in a
sudden California fire which started from
an unknown cause less than 1.5 miles from their home. The fire raged so fast from
40mph winds that there was no time for
firefighters or rescue personnel to respond or start evacuations. Alaina did everything she could to escape with Feyla and their
3 dogs, who also perished. The Zogg Fire
claimed a total of four lives among the
residents of Igo, CA.
My name is Lisa Nave, I am the sister of
Alaina and auntie to Feyla. We are in
Oregon, where the Mcleod family had
hoped to relocate to be closer to Alaina’s
Family, and to escape the harsh weather
and fires where they lived.
Zach McLeod, Alaina’s husband, lost them both, “his whole world,” In one day. Their
home, all belongings, and memorabilia of
their lives together burned to ash.
All proceeds from this page will go
directly to support Zach Mcleod for
housing, clothing, practical needs, and to
have something to start rebuilding with.
Zach and Alaina were rarely seen apart.
They were one of those couples that you
would see and instantly know they are
completely in Love. When the fire came
through, Zach was in town doing Alainas
bidding: buying pancakes, waffles, bacon,
eggs and sausage so the family could have a special “breakfast for dinner” and family
game night together.
Who They Were
Alaina and Feyla were 2 bright and
beautiful souls that brought life and love to all who knew them. Feyla, like her mother, was a true nature child who loved all
creatures great and small. She spent her
days at their mountain home collecting buggies, lizzards, snakes, and moths. Feyla, at
the young age of 8, was wise beyond her
years. An Old Soul. She was beloved by her classmates, family, and residents of the
small town of Igo. Feyla wanted to be a
veterinarian when she grew up.
Alaina thrived on making gem and crystal
jewelry, 'little pretties' for friends, family,
and to sell on Etsy to help support them. When she walked into a room, it would
light up, and a smile from her would make
you feel loved. From a very young age,
Alaina had a special connection with birds. She'd find a bird with a broken wing or
injury and nurse it back to health, spend
hours hand feeding and re-training it to fly, then release it back into the wild. Alaina,
Feyla, and Zach had 20 hand-raised pet
chickens. Each with their own name.
