Forced on Disability need rent help

Donation protected

My dad has been fighting stage 4 cancer for the past five or so years now, he's currently on an experimental treatment we pray will work, but unfortunately there's been an added complication. My dad has a pair of tumors on his spine that are pinching nerves in his leg causing him extreme pain and leaving the leg half numb. We have a treatment scheduled in two weeks from now though, so that's not the concern.

Today my dad failed the physical at his job, and was forced to take disability for 5 weeks. Disability is not going to cover the cost of our bills and rent. Last month we had to pay rent twice to catch up from a lull in his work that left us behind, there were days I had nothing to eat so that he could eat. We can't go through this again. We need help paying our rent and utilities for this month.

We've been doing everything in our power not to rely on others for help, we have wanted to stand on our own two feet and make it through this on our own with our heads held high. But we can't make it like that right now. We hope after the five weeks is up my dad will be back on his feet again, and we can pick up where we left off. Anything past our goal will just be put to rent and utilities for next month just in case it isn't.

I could go on and on about his integrity as a person, his work ethic alone speaks for itself, but nothing I feel like I can say would do him justice.  He's always been my hero, I grew up like any other little girl- believing my dad was a superhero. He was the strongest man in the world, no matter what happened to me I felt so fearless because my dad would always fight all the bad guys and keep me safe. I remember one time  a few years ago he brought home a baby bird he had found on his walk, it was a sight seeing this burly six -foot Greek man cradling an ugly peeping bundle in his hands telling me we "had to save it", the next day he came across some other baby birds in the same area that hadn't made it and came home utterly heartbroken he hadn't found them earlier to save them too. Now I've had to watch my hero decline and I have to face the fact that I'm going to lose him eventually.

I don't want to see him go through the stress of falling behind in bills again on top of everything else.  He's having a hard enough time already. Please, every little bit would help.
