Fordham 5 salutes Kevin Sweeney

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is with great sadness that we share that Kevin Sweeney, our dear friend and Fordham 5 brother, has passed away peacefully after his courageous fight with cancer. You may know him from dozens of professional and social situations, but we prefer to remember him (hazily) in an amalgamation of a hundred different bars, holding a drink and laughing hysterically with our friends over a joke that really was mediocre at best. We will remember his ability to find humor in any situation, his flowing sarcasm that brought proper perspective to life, and his talent for creating fun wherever he went.
Kevin led a wonderful life filled with friends and family and is survived by his wife, Andrea, and his daughter, Allison. Kevin was dedicated to his family and throughout his courageous fight against cancer he never once expressed any concern or regret about his condition other than for the well being of Andrea and Allison once he could no longer look after them. He was particularly concerned for being able to provide for Allison’s college, who is 12 and just starting to consider her academic future.
The best way to honor the joy Kevin brought to your life is with a toast to all the good times that he helped create. In that spirit, if you’ve ever been to a Fordham 5 party, if you’ve ever laughed with us at that mediocre joke at 1:00 in the morning, if you’ve ever talked shop over a beer with him, if you’ve ever gotten good advice (or at least, well-meaning advice) from him, professional or otherwise, then please consider buying a round for him in the form of a contribution to Allison’s college fund at [insert link to GoFundMe here].
Thank you all for being a part of our Fordham 5 experience, and for all the good times that you helped create. We treasure every memory.
