Fordingbridge47 New Forest Challenge
A team from fordingbridge fire station have set themselves the challenge of running and on the odd occasion walking 54 miles between all 11 new forest fire stations. That’s the equivalent on 2 marathons if that wasn’t hard enough we’re going to attempt this in full fire kit and lugging a breathing apparatus set on out back weighing up to 16kg. It will take us 2 days to complete over the easter weekend 24/10/20 and the 25/10/20. Training has begun so if you see us out and about looking slightly odd, feel free to give Us a toot. Matt O’Hare, Colin Reeves , Paul Dorrington and Lee Dorrington are all firefighters from fordingbridge fire station and are all doing this challenge to raise money for the fire fighters charity as they provide us and our families with support and recuperation in our time of need. Any donations or support will be gratefully appreciated and we thank you all in advance.
More information about The Fire Fighters Charity: The Fire Fighters Charity is here to support Fire Fighters and their families whether injured, ill or in need of psychological support. The job can be very demanding and produce strains on not only the Fire Fighters themselves but also the families as well.
The Fire Fighters Charity was founded during the dark days of the Blitz to support the bereaved families of brave firefighters who laid down their lives to tackle the devastation seen across the Capital.
