Forest trek in aid of New Horizons

Hi, we're fundraising for New Horizons CIC which is an equine therapy not-for-profit. They helped us through an incredibly difficult period when my daughter suffered from school-related anxiety. In return, we'd like to raise enough money for another child to access their services, for the same amount of time it took my daughter to feel centred and empowered again.

When working with horses, no words are required and no judgements are made. The presence of a horse can recalibrate disordered thoughts and feelings, and bring the individual back to the here and now, in a powerfully simple way. Horses also have stories to tell, and in becoming attuned to an animal and their needs, a capacity for self-awareness is also developed. This dynamic becomes a powerful tool in healing and giving those who've been temporarily 'bumped out' by life, a place in the world again.

Our trek will consist of riding on two very special ponies - Becky and Bonnie - for two nights and three days. Bonnie is young and still learning, and Becky is old but willing, so the journey will not be about speed, but going forward, step-by-step in a mindful way. We'll be camping and reconnecting with our local environment and aspects of forest culture on the way.
