Send Forestville ES Odyssey of the Mind team to Worlds!

The Forestville Elementary School's Odyssey of the Mind team, consisting of 5th graders Alicia, Elena, Grant, Jennifer, Juliette, Sofia & Tommy, are headed to the World Finals in Iowa May 21-24, 2024!

These newbies to Odyssey of the Mind have been working 1-3 times a week since October. Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition where teams work to write, design, and construct an 8 minute theatrical performance. The team performed their skit for "Classics...Opening Night Antics," depicting a Senior Citizen production of The Wind in the Willows where many things go wrong. They received 1st place at both regionals and the Virginia state tournament for their problem. They can't wait to continue their journey to the World Finals at Iowa State University in Ames, IA!

The kids will each pay $730 for tournament registration, room & board while staying in the dorms and eating at the university dining halls. Airfare to Des Moines is starting at $600 RT and the shuttle to Ames is $75/person. It will cost each of the 7 team members at least $1400.
