Forever Our Heroes
Tuesday, June 23, 2020 is a day that many of us will never forget. It is the day that 38 of our colleagues lost their jobs in our ER (Adult Emergency Services) at the University of Michigan. The “Emergency Technicians” that work in our ED (wearing the green scrubs in the picture) are paramedics by training, people with incredible talents and skills, men and women that are a vitally integral part of the care that every single patient receives when they cross our threshold. These people are our colleagues, our friends, our fellow #FrontLine brothers and sisters. They are also your friends, your neighbors, your EMS/Fire/First Responders, your PTO members, your community volunteers, etc: they are, simply, the Best of America. After years of selfless service, holidays and weekends away from family, and most recently literally facing down COVID19 while smiling from behind their masks they now find themselves jobless. This GoFundMe campaign is an attempt to cushion their fall, help them catch their breath, show them in some way in the midst of their time of crisis (and our utter heartbreak) that we care. Please, if you feel motivated to do something, consider contributing whatever you can to this noble cause. All of your generous donations, after a short window so as to put this money in their hands as quickly as possible, will be distributed equally amongst our 38 friends.
Thank You!
