Javier's Medical, Hopes & wishes
Donation protected
My name is Javier Torres. I was diagnosed with an incurable disease. Muscular Dystrophy, that overtime can cause a person to become totally paralyzed, In the last 2 years, I have had a tracheotomy and also a feeding tube placed to improve my quality of life, as the disease has affected my breathing and ability to eat.
.....Of my 3 siblings, two have also been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and are paralyzed as well. Two of us have a trach and feeding tube, and my brother requires the use of a ventilator to breathe for him at all times. Our condition will only worsen; it will never improve or remain stable.
.....To maintain our quality of life we require a new constructed handicap ramp from our house to be able to go to medical appointments, one of our siblings to go to work, and to attend family activities. Our current ramp was constructed in 2003 and it is no longer safe for us to use. It is deteriorating and risk of giving way, which can place us at harm’s way of injury.
.....We also require a generator strong enough to power our home in the case that our home loses power, so that our medical equipment is still able to function and keep our home in proper temp, until our power returns.
.....While, the ramp and generator are critical for our survival, we will like to request donations to purchase a 4x4 van to transport all of us to our various medical appointments and social activities (to where I exhibit my art).
