FOR OUR SIBS: BLACK TRANS FUND CAMPAIGN

Welcome sibs, comrades, and future comrades. We are FOR OUR SIBS, and for those who do not know us, we are a Black trans-led collective based here in Atlanta, GA, that provides mutual aid to Black Trans, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, Two-Head, 2S, and Intersex folks through the work of community care and the arts (as a form of liberation). Founded and led by two Black Trans Non-Binary Disabled folks: Maliyah and Cie.

Our praxis and politic rely on Mutual Aid, Black Trans Liberation, Black Lesbian feminist praxis, Disability Justice, and Community Care. We know that this nation-state is built on stolen land (Turtle Island), anti-blackness, chattel slavery, yt supremacy, capitalism, and imperialism. We believe that prisons are obsolete. We deny and resist all forms of fascist interests. Our mission is to provide Black Trans siblings funds and goodies that will help bring joy and care in an already capitalistic and yt supremacist state that (attempts to) deny our autonomy and intersecting identities.

Our journey began in May 2020, with the rise of Black Lives Matter protests, unemployment, and a mass wave of COVID-19 increases. We began an individual Black Trans master doc list (here ), and meeting/connecting virtually was confirmation that anti-blackness and anti-trans violence/struggle are global struggles. In July 2020, we launched ourselves as a full collective, naming ourselves FOR OUR SIBS because we are more than individuals; we are siblings!

Reasons for us launching this campaign, we are launching this GoFundMe in efforts to help replenish our mutual aid funds, create a team, and build a space to work out of. It is also important to note that Black-led and Trans-led organizations and collectives often go underfunded in the Southeastern regions.

Ways YOU can fund and promote our campaign:

• Make a fundraiser in our name. Please make sure to tag us on social media when doing so. We are huge on transparency and accountability here.
• Use your social capital. Click the link here to get a copy of our campaign flyers. Repost on your social media platform and stories consistently. Due to the new algorithm, many social media accounts (including individual marginalized peoples) that center on crowdfunding, mutual aid, abolition, and survival work are heavily surveillance and policing.
• Use your economic capital. For class traitors, open your purse for us and let your class-privileged friends and family know about our campaign.
• Follow us on all platforms and turn our post notifications on. Again, we get lost through the anti-black algorithm, so it helps to stay connected.
