We are devastated to share the tragic news of the death of Forrest A Angwin, who passed away during a mountain bike race on Mt Ashland. On April 12, 2023. Forrest was not only a talented mountain biker, but he was also a loving son, family man, and a cherished friend. His infectious smile, adventurous spirit, and kind heart touched the lives of so many. We are heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with his loss.
Forrest's family are facing immense emotional and financial challenges during this difficult time. The unexpected costs associated with the funeral and memorial arrangements, along with other unforeseen expenses, have put a significant burden on the family. ASHLAND, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and Ashland Fire and Rescue (AFR) personnel responded to a call for an injured man mountain biking in the Ashland watershed last night around 6:30 p.m. The mountain biker was wearing a helmet and other safety gear during a sanctioned race when he crashed but was unresponsive after life-saving measures were attempted. The mountain biker ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by AFR personnel. Due to the rugged terrain in the area, JCSO Search and Rescue (SAR) responded to assist.
The decedent is Forrest Anthony Angwin, 25, of Grants Pass. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.
