Fort McMurray Flooding - Help Cora and Alec
Donation protected
Cora Dion is one of my best friends, and she and her husband were forced to leave their home due to the flooding here in Fort McMurray.
Seeing all your ruined belongings on the front lawn after dragging them from your home is just devastating.
Cora helps everyone else, and its hard to ask for help for herself.
So this is me, asking all of you, to join me in helping her.
She isn't working due to the virus, and her husband is lucky if he can get a shift a week right now.
The attached video is what they saw on May 1st when they were allowed to go back and assess the damage. Almost exactly 4 years to the day when we all evacuated because of the fire.
They are living away from home with their 2 dogs, cat, and chinchilla, and can't go back home to live yet, due to the damage and no power.
They could really use our help to pay for their expenses living away from home, their pet food and supplies, cleaning, salvaging, and repairing their home. They have no answers right now about if they will even be covered by insurance because it is Overland Flooding.
Today, May 4th, 2020 they are demolishing and dragging out all the dry wall and ceiling tiles, and assessing the wiring and panel.
Any kind of donation at all would truly help this family.
Thank you <3
UPDATE: They are working their way through cleaning up, and doing what they can to get their power turned back on. They are overwhelmed by your love and support and want to thank all their family, and (friends who really are family too!!) THANK YOU!!
