Fort Worth Native Lost Home and Pets to Fire

Hi! My name is Khara and I am fundraising for my son, his girlfriend, and her young son who lost their home and their two beloved cats to a tragic house fire that started while everyone was away. We believe the fire started at the portable air conditioner unit, as there are scorch marks under the unit and running up the wall, but the fire report is not yet available. The family has been living in a camper trailer for the past year. This was a temporary living situation, so the camper was uninsured. Since nobody was home at the time, the fire department was not notified right away, and the camper and everything inside is a total loss. With school starting in a matter of days, they really need some help.

Both my son and his girlfriend are employed - one in retail and one for Uber Eats. However, on their incomes and with the cost of everything so high these days, it will be months before they can save enough money to find a place to live and begin rebuilding their lives. Then they will need to replace all the things they lost. That means everything from clothing, shoes, socks, under garments, toiletries, furniture, beds, bedding, mattresses, computers, electronics, appliances - literally everything - all on retail and Uber Eats salaries. Coupled with the financial loss is the devasting heartbreak of the loss of their beloved cats - Turtle and Kuro. While the monetary loss is difficult, even more tragic is the loss of these two very precious lives. If you can help them, I ask that you please do!
