Fort Follies' Pro Women's Grand Prix

Strong. Fast. Aggressive. Exciting. Women's Cycling. With
the USA Pro Challenge coming to Colorado, top-level women deserve to be
highlighted as well for their raw competitiveness, blazing speeds, daring
attacks, and ruthless sprints. The
ladies are now getting the chance on August 24th thanks to the passionate Fort Follies Women's Cycling Team, the generous City of Fort Collins, and excellent people passionate about women's cycling.
At the USA Pro Challenge Stage 6 ending in Old Town Fort Collins on August 24th, the Fort Follies Cycling Team has the opportunity to host a Women's Pro 1/2 criterium on the finishing circuit. The Fort Follies seek to showcase the competitiveness and talent of the women's field and inspire more women to ride and even race! Due to sponsorship restrictions from using the same course as the pro men, we are seeking support for the event from women's cycling's biggest fans- YOU.
To kick off the event, we'll start with an 8 a.m. Ride with the Stars Ride with a handful of professional ladies in attendance. The ride is geared for all levels and ages. We'll end up back in Old Town for the women's criterium and the men's finish!
The Fort Follies Grand Prix, open to Women Pro 1/2s, will run from 12-12:50pm with awards following immediately after. The race itself will also have a sprint competition, best amateur, and most aggressive rider award from Vie13! Neutral support will be provided by State Wheels.
To conclude the celebrations, women of all levels, race participants and fans of women's cycling are welcome to our after-party with tons of giveaways from our biggest supporters like SKINourishment, Michelin, Prana, Veloforma, Chamois Butt'r, and Full Cycle!
We're so fortunate to have so many supporters and our event costs before a prize purse is estimated at $6,000. Our goal is to have a women's total prize purse of $9,000 for a grand total of $15,000. Any funds over that will go directly back into the Fort Follies to continue their mission of getting more ladies on bikes and reducing the barriers to start riding and racing. Our deadline for our costs for the event is July 26th. If we're unable to meet our costs, the event will not be able to happen. Help us prevent that!
We hope you'll join us on our journey and spread the word! For racers, please note that registration will open August 1st but I'd love to hear from you beforehand. If you are a company looking to get involved, please contact us as well- we have lots of fun, unique opportunities for you!
