Help an activist survive cancer & long covid
Donation protected
In 2022 Tinu, a devoted advocate and volunteer for Black women and disabled people, was hospitalized with COVID pneumonia which led to a resurfacing of her cancer. She also now has Long COVID & MEcfs.
As a high-risk person, she and her family need our help: cancer is expensive, and without her income this month while she is in the hospital, she and her household need financial support. Hospital stays and cancer care are expensive—please help her.
Also, please help advocate for and enact public health policies that center the people who are most impacted by and high risk for COVID, especially people like Tinu. As Tinu writes, if you would wear a ribbon for a cancer patient, you should be wearing a Mask for Everyone.

Every month, Tinu needs:
- $2000/$3500 for material support (rent/groceries mortgage.) That's less her steady monthly income.
- $500 per infusion ( typically no more than two) copay
- 20% of medical bills (the rest is covered by insurance, ranges from $2K to $8k)
With about $500 a month from book sales and $1500 month from her membership site, this leaves a huge gap.
She can no longer do virtual speaking/workshop bookings consistently to make up the difference that ranges from $7K to $12K per month.
Even the visibility she has to maintain in order for fundraising to come in has become a 40 hour a week to be seen. She can't stop doing it until she reaches her monthly goal, yet is makes her more sick, erasing much of the treatments work.
She is still doing community and helping other people with their mutual aid one day a week despite this. Please help her return to her work for her beloved community.
