Poland Border Support for Ukrainian Refugees

As many of you know, I set out for Europe last week to help support Ukrainian refugees crossing into Poland, namely at the border village of Medyka and the adjacent city of Przemyśl at which some base camps have been set up for supply drops. I've met so many generous people working with NGOs as well as countless individuals like myself who were able to come out here but without a real plan. However, given how dire the situation is on the ground, we didn't need much of a plan to be put to use right away.

 

I hadn't intended to create this GoFundMe page, but so many of you at home have been asking how you can help. The single most significant thing you can do to make an immediate impact is to donate to this fund. The core group of people I've teamed up with is made up of young professionals like myself who took time off from work and paid out-of-pocket to travel here. All of our vehicles, fuel, food, and accommodations have been self-paid. Every dollar raised through this platform will go directly and entirely to Ukrainian refugees. Needs change on a daily and sometimes hourly basis, but you could expect your dollars to go toward items like:

 

Whether you're in a position to donate or not, please do everything you can from home to show your support for Ukraine and its people - join rallies and stay active on social media. I can assure you that what we can do from home doesn't go unnoticed. The Ukrainians and Polish see it. The journalists and civilian volunteers, many of whom are risking their lives, see it. Hopefully enough Russians see it. Your support gives them hope and the encouragement to keep fighting for freedom and democracy, ideals that most of us as Americans speak of so frequently without knowing their true cost firsthand.
