Forward Drive ECC Half Marathon

Players and coaches of the Eastbourne Cricket Club seniors will be tackling the 2025 Eastbourne Half Marathon to raise funds for the club’s flagship junior program ‘Forward Drive’.

Forward Drive provides all year round free, enjoyable and fun softball coaching to 4-11 year olds. A series of fun sessions providing opportunities for boys and girls to try out cricket and progress their skills. Weekly sessions include coaching from qualified ECB coaches encouraging friendly and fun competition as well as skill development. Sessions are completely FREE, all kit is provided and children receive free Forward Drive hoodies!

The program has grown from strength to strength since starting in 2018 helping create the next generation of ECC players. Many ‘Forward Drivers’ have progressed into junior hardball age group teams and featured in senior adult sides. A number of current senior players progressed through Forward Drive, which provides an excellent introduction into cricket by emphasising fun, learning and social health.

Funds raised from this will ensure this vital program can remain entirely free for 4-11 year olds to play cricket in Eastbourne.
