FOSS Fundraiser for the Chagossian People

Hi! I'm Michal, the Project Lead of Crystal Linux.

On behalf of the Crystal Linux community, I'm starting this fundraiser to raise awareness for the former, forcefully displaced people of the Chagossian Archipelago

The British Indian Ocean Territory (which includes the Chagossian Archipelago) was forcefully vacated almost half a century ago to make room for a US Military Base, and the people weren't even given a second thought

Their voices are still heard to this day, and yet the UK refuses to act and make things right. Furthermore, companies are profiting from the British Indian Ocean Territory TLD ".io", while the Chagossian people are still denied the rights to the islands they once called home

I hope that with this fundraiser, we can help spread the word in the Tech world about the history of the ".io" TLD, as well as make a one-time donation to support the Chagossian Conservation Trust
