Foster Suite

Hi! For those who don’t know me, my name is Aris. I have been fostering for the past six years for various organizations, but have fallen in love with Richmond Animal Care and Control. All in total, we’ve fostered somewhere around two hundred animals, between litters of puppies and kittens. We usually take in litters of puppies and their mom if she’s also available for foster. Last year, we converted one of our sheds into a puppy palace, with a concrete floor and doggie door for our fosters. A couple weeks ago, we had to tear out the inside to replace the plywood after it had been soaked in pee from our fosters. We sealed it all up and placed vinyl around everything to water proof it more. We’ve done all this work on our own for the comfort of our fosters. One of the thin/gs we need, but can’t cover ourselves, is an a/c unit for the shed. During the summer it gets hot, and we can’t currently keep fosters in there from May to about August. We thought about a window unit, but with fosters being both puppies and adults, we can’t take the risk of them pushing on it and breaking it, or escaping after breaking it. The unit we need is called a mini split and it goes up near the ceiling where the dogs couldn’t reach, and the main part is outside. The only hole we would have to put in the shed is about three inches in diameter, and up in the ceiling, so we wouldn’t have to worry about dogs harming themselves or breaking the unit. The other items are for making an automatic water feeder for the fosters, so they never run out of water in their shed. All items and prices are listed on our amazon wishlist ( https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3Q6DSKBNQ0158?ref_=wl_share ) , and anything extra that comes in will be donated to Richmond Animal Care and Control Foundation.
