Fostering Amanda’s Future!

Hello! My name is Lauren and I am a friend of Amanda’s from school. I am setting up this fundraiser to raise funds in support of Amanda’s battle with Breast Cancer. Right before our winter break Amanda told me about a lump she was worried about in her breast that she recently felt. A few weeks later, after numerous appointments and scans, she was informed it was Breast Cancer at the young age of 28.
Amanda’s story:
December 2022, I found a large lump in my breast. Every doctor swore it was nothing to worry about until the biopsy came back. My worst fear came to life, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Grade C Breast Cancer. Why me? What’s my prognosis? Will I be able to have kids? Will I lose my hair? My anxiety sky rocketed. The doctors wanted to move fast. No time to process. I’m a full time student on my last year of achieving my Bachelors in Dental Hygiene. Since I’m a full time student at 28 years old, many medicines and procedures I need aren’t covered due to my insurance limitations. I became overwhelmed and began to shut down. However, God gave me this life to live it. God wouldn’t give me anything I couldn’t handle. Between doctors appointments, genetic testing, fertility counseling, treatment plans, etc. my team at Capital Health has kept me feeling hopeful and strong. You never know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have. Breast cancer will not defeat me, I will defeat it! I will not give up regardless of the obstacles thrown at me and I urge all ladies and gents to start touching your boobies, early detection could save your life!
Any small donation to support Amanda at this time and to help us meet her goal would be greatly appreciated! This will not only help with doctor’s appointments, fertility counseling, treatments, but also help her with the burden of school tuition. Let’s help Amanda FIGHT breast cancer, while getting her DEGREE!
Amanda has completed her double mastectomy surgery and is healing well. However, she is now in the stage of chemo which is very costly and she’s unable to work.
