Please consider donating to my good friends, the Foy Family. Amy and her daughter, Hallie have been seriously impacted by Lyme Disease. Amy has been receiving medical treatment since her diagnosis nearly a year ago. She was finally able to get a diagnosis after 10 years and nearly 40 doctors either mis-diagnosing, or only working on one or two symptoms out of her body-system wide problems and chronic pain.
Her husband, Steve has been carrying a full load in not only caring for her and his daughter, as well as working a full-time job, but has also tried to increase his paycheck through obtaining a degree, as well as taking on additional odd jobs. Due to bills not covered by insurance (because of it being Lyme-related) their savings account has been completely depleted. Also, due to an injustice with her former teaching employment, Amy has not qualified for disability as of yet. Nor is she able to work.
Amy is housebound, and unable to drive currently, and has been for the past several months. Amy and Hallie’s diet and medication has been critical towards improvement, and the diet recommendations are very expensive. The best relief she has gotten so far is an extremely pricey device called an Ampcoil, which has helped decrease tremors, seizures and communication deficiencies. Treatment for Hallie has been very slow considering her strong reactions, subsequent sleep disturbances, and emotional distress. The Ampcoil has helped Hallie with recovering from severe symptoms as well.
Due to just trying to make ends meet in the Bay Area, they may lose the one thing that has made the most impact. The Foys have been through many trials and have faith that God will take them through. Along with that faith, may this hands-on endeavor through friends, bless them in regaining some of what they have lost and reduce their financial stress as they recover. Thank you!
