On Friday, February 17th, 2023, my friend and Co-worker Sam Thompson had left work early to handle some business, regarding his twin boys. As Sam was leaving a store near his home, retrieving items he needed for his children, he happened past 2 people who were in a heated argument. One of the guys thought that Sam made a comment about the altercation, and accosted Sam. Sam replied to the guy that he made no comment, and proceeded to his vehicle. Sam was subsequently shot from behind, 3 times. Twice in the shoulder, and once in the neck. The bullet he took in the neck has rendered Sam paralyzed. Doctors aren’t sure at this point, if the Paralysis will be permanent, or not. Sam has worked alongside of me for 3.5 years, and has been an exemplary employee. He is well-liked, respected by his co-workers, and is friendly and helpful to everyone he comes across. His pride and joy are his sons. Sam even begin a small “Party Supply” business, outside of work, to make sure he was able to provide for them. In this day and age, it is hard to find a young man so driven. We know that the road to recovery is going to be a long one, and we would like to aid Sam and his family, in making sure his twin boys, Sam Jr. & King, are provided for, as the road to Recovery begins. No one deserves to be shot in the back, especially for an issue they have no part in. Sam is a great employee, a responsible young man, and an all-around good person. The thought of him facing paralysis is appalling, and we want to support him as best we can. Help the Primary Color Family reach its goal, so we can show much love to Sam & His family, in this troubling time.
