Kidney transplant for Carolyn Walker

Hi my name is Robin Walker and I'm trying to raise money to help offset some of the costs we will have when my wife Carolyn gets her kidney transplant. Carolyn is in end stage renal failure and has been on dialysis for almost 4 years. She has a nasty disease called polysystic kidneys. This disease grows hundreds of cysts on her kidneys and liver, causing pain, causing infections, and reducing function level of her kidneys. Carolyn's function level is around 7%. She has been called once already 2 weeks ago, for a possible kidney but unfortunately she was in the hospital with a major kidney infection and had to turn down the kidney that was offered to her. The good news is that she is now at the top of the list and should be getting more offers as they come available. The VA Transplant Center we will be going to is in Portland and we will be there from 1 to 3 months depending on complications. As I'm retired and Carolyn is disabled so we are on a fixed-income. We will have to keep up all of our current obligations here in Placer county as well as all the expenses related to living in Portland for a couple of months. I realize that times are hard but we're in real need of a little help. We've never done anything like this before so I don't fully understand how it works. If you see your way clear to help it would be greatly appreciated.
