Fr. Kelly's Beard Shave
UPDATE
Amazed and bewildered that 200 children will receive a meal each day in school for the next year, Fr Kelly has agreed to “do” the head as well in order to try and feed another 200 children. it is with a very grateful heart that he thanks each and every donor for making his auld grey beard such a transforming agent as more and more children will taste the gift of food in school.
After weeks and months of pleading and appealing from family and friends, Fr. Eamonn Kelly has finally agreed to get the beard shaved.
He has not used a razor himself since the day before Donegal won their first All-Ireland title in September 1992. Therefore he feels that he would not be able to safely and correctly remove the bead.
So – rather than delay - his friends have organised others to help remove the growth. You are invited to help them achieve their long-time longed-for-goal: a clean face.
In the hearts of Fr. Kelly and his friends are the children waiting to receive a meal each day with Mary's Meals. So putting it all together you are invited to help out and to witness the beard being removed on Saturday 7 October at the Diamond, Raphoe, Co.Donegal at 2pm.
It will be a time of fun and laughter, a time of joy and thrill, a time of helping feed more children. During this time Mary's Meals hope to feed 200 children for a full school year with Mary's Meals. To feed one child costs €22 per school year.
