Fran Marler and Tommy Reynolds in a Huge Time of Need
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dorothy Heath Morris. I am creating this fundraiser to help a family we all know and love dearly. This past week our friends Fran and Lance Marler (longtime employees at Kill Devil Grill, JK's, Supporters of Surfing for Autism and freelance writer for numerous local publications) and Tommy and Pamela Reynolds (Employees of Twiddy and Company) endured tragic loss and heartbreaking circumstances completely unfathomable. As many of you may know, Fran and Tommy's mother has been declining health wise for the last few years. They have been navigating the peculiarities of what has ailed her, nurturing her and loving her through out the journey. Taking one step at a time and leaping over the hurdles when necessary.
While their parents were visiting for an extended visit to the Outer Banks as their home in South Carolina had just been ravaged with water damage, their mother had another episode requiring admittance to the hospital. The only hospital bed available being in Little Washington, they packed up and headed there with their father to sort through the next obstacle and to try their best at resolving the mystery. Unfortunately, Monday morning their father suffered a major heart attack in their hotel room.
Faced with the nightmare of having to leave one parent to tend to the impending dilemma with the other, Fran and Tommy chose to divide and conquer. Sadly, we lost Mr. Reynolds early Thursday morning.
Their mother is still awaiting placement in longterm care as her mind and mental health are declining.
This has become a harrowing journey that will require an extensive amount of time and attention away from work while they begin to sort through the affairs of a deceased parent, obtaining guardianship of another parent, while finalizing all the legalities of both situations- which as most of you know is extensive and a huge undertaking.
These four individuals are hardworking staples of our community, who are always ready willing and able to give of what they can. Please help me reciprocate their giving spirits and support them at a time when grief is at its peak and urgency is of the essence. No one could be prepared for what the tragedy and loss they have endured. Please help me cushion the rest of their path with peace of mind knowing they have some security in taking the time they need to handle these life matters properly and thoroughly.
Thank you for your consideration. Every penny helps....
