Frances is Running for Team Liz!
Donation protected
I'm super excited, and honored to be running this year's Boston Marathon as part of Team Liz. All donations received will go towards the Elizabeth Ann Tarpey Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefiting young women from Braintree High who exhibit the values Liz held throughout her life, including high academic achievement, community engagement, strength of character, and a love of learning that drove Liz toward her dreams.
About Liz:
Liz passed away tragically at age 23 during a hiking accident in Hawaii on June 22, 2013. We will never forget Liz and the unforgettable love that she shared with all who knew her. We think of Liz every day, and we will miss her forever.
This year, a team of runners (Frances Ellis and Meredith Morris) will be running the 2019 Boston Marathon in her honor on Monday, April 15, 2019, to raise funds for the Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Liz's father, Christopher, was at the site of the attack in Boston on April 15, 2013, and got injured in the blast. In true "Boston Strong" spirit, Chris -- a perennial volunteer on Marathon Day -- has become a serial marathon runner and runs in his daughter's memory.
Please consider donating, and helping me reach my goal!
