Francesco Salvaggio

Our supervisor Charlie Salvaggio’s 19 year old son Francesco has recently been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS gradually paralyzes a person's whole body as the brain is no longer able to communicate commands to the muscles. Scientists have yet to determine why the disease behaves this way and for now there really is no cure.

Charlie , who has been with us for 18 years, and his wife Laura are truly devastated . Needless to say, life for the Salvaggio family has changed overnight. The disease has already affected Francesco’s ability to do many of the things he loves like playing soccer, going out with friends and simply being a regular teenage boy.
