Help Francis Move Out of Abuser's (Dad's) Home

Hi, my name is Francis Grimes. Thank you so much for taking a few moments to read my story. I have an urgent need to move out of my biological parents’ home due to physical and sexual violence inflicted by my “dad” (in quotations because his actions make him no father to me) who has a severe cocaine addiction.

I am currently pressing assault charges, and I was granted a Domestic Violence Protective Order on March 18th due to the physical assault that occurred on February 28th. This comes after a previous incident where he attempted to have sex with me. This order grants me the ability to continue to stay in the residence for one year excluding his presence and also ordered him to complete a 16 - week, in person incest abuse program. Currently, due to this order, I am technically safe at his and my mother’s home where the abuse occurred.

However, although I am not physically in danger, I am dealing with severe mental trauma that is only being made worse by continuing to live in his house. Any money donated will be used to secure housing for myself (including application fees, rent, utilities, furnishing) in or around the area of Charlotte, NC and also help catch up on bills and the mortgage that are extremely behind due to my “dad” having spent the money on drugs. My underage brother (17) stays in this house as well and the bills being behind are negatively impacting his livelihood.
