Frank and Shannon Palazzolo medical journey
Donation protected
Our dear friends Shannon and Frank Palazzolo have just been dealt an incredibly difficult hand. After an arduous pregnancy, baby Paxton Thomas Palazzolo decided to enter the world over a month early, requiring Shannon to undergo an unexpected and stressful emergency c-section.
While putting their careers on hold to balance shielding and caring for their toddler at home, welcoming their premature baby Paxton, still in the NICU and unable to breathe on his own, and recovering from surgery, they handled this unforeseen curveball with grace and perseverance.
With baby Paxton a day away from coming home, the Palazzolo family was dealt another unfortunate blow. Shannon’s incision point from surgery had started to bleed and after several hours, the pain became unbearable. She was rushed to the hospital and after four excruciating hours in the waiting room, was finally seen by a doctor and diagnosed with a pelvic hematoma. Shannon had lost a significant amount of blood and had to be rushed to the OR to undergo a devastating but life-saving emergency surgery.
What the Palazzolo family has been through in the past two weeks has been nothing short of traumatic. After over ten days in the hospital, Shannon has finally returned home, where she at long last got to spend the night with her newborn son. Unfortunately, Shannon is still facing a challenging road of healing ahead. All the while, Frank has been juggling childcare for their toddler, managing care for Shannon and baby Paxton, and navigating the intimidating healthcare system.
As a freelance independent Music Supervisor, without employer-provided assistance or coverage, Frank will be unable to work and generate income for the foreseeable future. The family has a long journey ahead to recover from the physical and emotional impacts of these unexpected surgeries and significant life changes. We are calling on our incredible community to help lend a hand so the Palazzolo family can manage their mounting medical bills, childcare, and anything else that may come their way with the uncertainty that lies ahead. Frank and Shannon are longtime pillars in our community, and we want to ensure they can focus on healing and caring for themselves and their family right now.
