Frank could use a little help from his friends!

Anyone that knows Frank Bella, knows that he rarely asks for help. Whatever problems he’s had to deal with in the past, have usually been taken care of quietly without any fanfare. Frank grew up in a very rough neighborhood in Chicago, and he also served time in the United States Air Force, stationed in the most dangerous military base during the Cold War, circa 1970s-1980s. Frank is truly a survivor.

He’s also an amazing graphic artist that’s created many fine music posters for famous musicians, drawn some comic books, and has had his poetry published in a handful of different publications.

Nine years ago, Frank decided to move to a remote mountain town hundreds of miles from his old friends, where he’d create his art in an idyllic environment, continuing to work with his various clients scattered around the USA.

Unfortunately, this mountain town was a not good fit for Frank. While he didn’t drive, that was never a problem until he moved to this place. While living in this town Frank also wound up with a plethora of unexpected health issues, including a disability that affected his mobility and forced him to use a cane for most of his walking.

There were a handful of unfortunate factors that added to a downward turn in Frank’s well-being since he moved to the mountain town. Without easy access to healthy food, his diet changed, and his diabetes got worse. He nearly got killed three times crossing the main highway of his town . During Thanksgiving, he laid in his bed ... near death for three days ... as nobody seemed to notice.

I found out about Frank’s dire situation during the Christmas holidays. With some assistance from the V.A. (Veterans Administration), I was able to connect with someone that arranged for a county deputy safety check that confirmed that he was OK.

Months after that little scare, we were able find out about semi-subsidized housing from the V.A. He’s temporarily moved into my home in the Bay Area as we sort through all the bureaucracy associated with semi-subsidized housing.

Specifically, we are raising money for:
- the costs of moving (which will likely involve a couple of trips)
- the costs of temporary storage for the Bella archives and belongings
- more health care matters
- food and other necessities

We’re hoping to raise at least $5,000. If you can help our friend Frank, that would be fantastic.

We thank you.
