Frank Godoy Memorial and Family Support
Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Francisco Adrian Godoy, Jr. (Frank). Frank was the son of adoring parents who both recently passed away. He was a brother to three loving sisters and a dedicated father to his three amazing sons. Frank was an uncle and best friend; a wonderful mentor and role model. Frank battled Type-1 Diabetes since the age of 4, enduring more than 45 surgeries, blindness, multiple transplants and amputations. Throughout his life, Frank demonstrated immense courage and strength, overcoming enormous odds to be there for those he loved. Tragically, diabetes claimed his life on June 6th.
Frank left an indelible impression on everyone he met with his resounding laughter, sense of humor, and bigger-than-life personality. Born on Christmas Day 1969, Frank grew up in East Los Angeles, graduated from Santa Teresita Elementary School in 1984 and Salesian High School in 1988. In 1990, during his studies at Pasadena Community College, he suffered major vision impairment and became almost totally blind. But through it all, Frank kept a positive outlook on life and made unbelievable sacrifices for his sons, family and friends. Up until his passing and as a single father he provided a home, security and constant encouragement to his two sons, Christian and Gianni, guiding them through their schooling, athletics and faith in God. Frank was proud of Christian who was accepted to Cal State Northridge this coming Fall, and Gianni who recently completed 10th grade achieving outstanding grades and becoming a standout baseball player on the high school team.
We are fundraising on behalf of Frank’s family to help with costs related to his medical treatments, debts incurred, memorial costs, and assist Christian and Gianni as they make this difficult transition. We are grateful for all the love and kind thoughts that have been shared about Frank and kindly ask that you extend that support through your generous donations.
