Frankie vs. FIP

Frankie is the sweetest little kitten I have ever seen. When I first got him I noticed he was clumsy and because he was still only a couple of months old I didn’t think anything of it. But instead of growing out of it he got more
clumsy. He stopped playing. He stopped asking for pets, and then he stopped eating. I took him to the vet and this is what we found:

Frankie has FIP, a rare feline virus caused by a genetic mutation.
Image: Frankie just days before diagnosis. You can tell how sad he is. He normally loves pets and kitty massages but he didn’t want to be touched. He must have been in so much pain
FIP was attacking Frankie from the inside out, attacking his organs and his brain. This used to be a death sentence to cats and kittens but as of about 6 months ago, a lifesaving treatment was found. Frankie is getting that treatment.

He has to have a daily injection for around 3 months, and then go through 3 more months of observation to ensure the virus doesn’t relapse.
The trouble is the medicine he needs to be injected with is very expensive and hard to get.
To save Frankie’s life and give him a long happy life, I am asking for donations to help with medicine costs.
We are already one third of the way through his treatment and he has improved so much. The medicine works and I have my sweet affectionate confident boy back but we are not out of the woods yet. We have almost two whole months of treatment to go before he can be considered in the clear. Until then his life is still at risk from this horrible disease.

I have tried to start a side business making candles to help cover his medicine costs, as well as pick up extra shifts at work but that is no longer an option so now I have to turn to you.
