Frankie’s Plasma Exchange & Dyalisis treatment

Donation protected

Hi everyone for those that don’t know me I’m Jess and on Sunday afternoon my world went into turmoil for 72 hours. We recently got a new puppy ( Frankie ) and being a puppy and a little bit extra cheeky than normal Frankie decided it would be a good idea to somehow jump up onto the table and attack a packaged and bubble wrapped packet of naproxen ( which I now know is highly toxic for dogs )

With my partner away at work and it being a Sunday I panicked and rushed both dogs to Murdoch Emergency Veterinary Hospital.

This is when things went from bad to worse when I was told treatment could be Up to 50/60k and that we needed to decide on whether we were able to afford to keep both dogs alive.
When I told them I could only come up with around 10k in such a short period of time. They gave me the option to choose which dog I wanted to keep alive the most and said that I could either euthanize or surrender the second. They explained that if I didn’t sign away my rights for the second that he would not make it.

Having Leo since my sister passed away, I couldn’t give him up. Choosing between my 2 boys was one of the toughest heart-breaking things I had to do, and I was in complete shock that this was the only thing I could do for them. They took Frankie away and said I would no longer have access to any further information regarding his wellbeing again and the chances of him surviving were very minimal.

The following day I called numerous times and only to be told that Leo was ok, no test results or cost yet and when I enquired about Frankie and was told I was no longer allowed to receive any further information as I was no longer his owner. The worry and grief for my little guy was too much and I just had to reach out for a second opinion.

It was then I spoke to my very good friend whose dad is a highly regarded long serving veterinary surgeon and when my experience was relayed, he couldn’t believe what had occurred.

Dr. Allan Roberts supported me through this whole process and without him and his expertise I would not of got our Frankie back.

I collected Leo after day 2 he had 1 round of Dialysis and Plasma Exchange Treatment and his bill totalled $8333.

Dr. Allan out of the kindness of heart has covered Frankie’s medical costs of $12434.00 on day 4 to have him back home in our care and have his surrender voided. I am completely overwhelmed and forever grateful for his gratitude however I cannot let him foot this bill and I need your help to pay back this kind-hearted man. Only for him we would never have seen our poor little Frankie again.

I have been so emotional during this ordeal. Thank everyone so much for your help Sean, Suse and Susie, Aunty Nadia & the team at Padbury Vet Clinic I am forever thankful and blessed with your care.
