Fran's Resilience Fund

After Fran and Joe’s daughter, Louise, turned one, Fran learned that she has stage 2 breast cancer. Those that know Fran know that she is facing this head-on, with strength and gratitude.

Fran is a badass marketing and communications freelancer. Being a freelancer means she does not have sick time, FMLA, or other employees who can donate from a time bank. Between chemo, surgery, and recovery, Fran is looking at a year, if not more, that her ability to work will be compromised. On top of the medical costs, Louise will need increased childcare, which also means increased childcare costs.

Aside from her work, Fran is also an artist, musician, and active community member. She contributes so much to the community and world around her that it only seemed fitting for a group of Fran’s friends to come together to help raise money to assist with all the challenges she and the family will face. We want to help alleviate the financial burden of this process so that Fran, Joe, and Louise can focus all their effort on care and recovery.

Fran is a fierce, passionate, and creative human being. She has already brought so much resilience and openness to this journey. We hope that the community that Joe and Fran have garnered can come together to ease the burden so Fran can embrace her resilience and candor entirely throughout her recovery.

It is no surprise that when something terrible happens in Fran’s life, she also looks at how she can help other people impacted by the same thing. She is a true community builder to her core in that way. Any excess funding that Fran and Joe don't use will be donated to the Sam Fund , a nonprofit that provides financial support to young cancer survivors.
