FRANZ BATTLE...BATTLING & BEATING CANCER!!!!

 Franz  is an 8 year stage 4 breast cancer survivor/thriver. She started experiencing symptoms in the Fall of 2009. Unfortunately her physician did not perform a biopsy. She told Franz that she had a swollen lymph node and sent her on her way. Nearly 4 years later; (April 2013) after experiencing extreme bone and stabbing pain, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma/ Triple positive Breast Cancer . Franz completed 4 months of aggressive chemotherapy. She has been on Immunotherapy/Maintenance treatment (every 3 weeks) since January 2014. Stage 4 survivors will always be on Immunotherapy/Maintenance treatments to decrease chances of disease progression.

In April of 2020 ( after experiencing difficulty with memory, word recall and focusing); an MRI revealed a left temporal lobe brain tumor. Her Oncologist put her on a “Watch & Wait “ protocol.
In October of 2020, her MRI showed an increase in size. She had surgery on Dec. 3, 2020  to remove the brain tumor. 

January 2021; Franz completed rounds of Sterotactic Brain Radiation to kill any invisible tumor cells and decrease chances of reoccurrence. It has only been 7 weeks since surgery. She is healing well; however, is still having some memory and cognitive difficulties. This is common and is likely to improve with time or therapy.

Medicare covers her Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy and Radiation treatment. There are multiple types of Homeopathic therapies that assist in treating cancer and preventing disease progression; however, these therapies are not covered by her Medicare insurance. Franz is needing assistance with a gofundme so that she can begin treatment that is not covered by her insurance plan.
