FRC #8573 Robotics advancement World Championship

Our FRC Robotics Team #8573 Rogue Rangers Legacy is a Rookie Community Team that has qualified to compete at the FIRST World Championship at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX. We have a small turn around window as we have just qualified this past weekend on Saturday, April 9, 2022. At the FIRST in Texas District Championship event our team received the Rookie All Star Award advancing the team and the robot to the World Championship on April 19th - 23rd.
We are a very small Community-Based Robotics team that is from a low socioeconomic status area in small rural town (Alton, TX) in the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas. Our Community-Based robotics team is self-funded by grants, donations, and parental support. We serve a diverse student group of Females, Hispanics, Underserved and Underrepresented populations in our communities. Our students have been doing robotics since their middle school years. We have three seniors on our team and this is their final season. We had a vision when we started all this over a year ago. Our FRC 8573 team is not funded or tied into any school district or entities. Our team has had to compete during their Spring Break vacation in order to reduce the days they have missed from school. Our team has built their robot at the home of one our Senior members. All this has been done with the Dream of advancing all the way to the World Championship. So far, we are on track, but we need some assistance.
We have had the entire season covered up until now that we have competed at two district events in Austin and Pasadena, TX and at the District "State" Championship through the grants our team received at the beginning of the season. However, with the teams advancement, the cost of traveling to a fourth event has escalated tremendously.
We are proud of all the success these 11 students have had in their Rookie Season as team FRC 8573. They are the Austin District Event - Rookie All Star Winners, the Pasadena #2 District Event - Imagery Award Winners & Highest Rookie Seed Winners. In the summer, they were the Highest Rookie Seed Award winners at the Texas Cup at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX. Our team ranked 28th out of 164 teams in the entire state of Texas going into the District Championship. The top 80 teams in Texas competed at this State Championship with 23 slots advancing to the World Championship. We are one of only two Texas teams that earned the Rookie All-Star Award at the District "State" Championship and will now represent our great state as one of the 23 teams from Texas.
We're so proud of our team for their achievement, but with this newfound accomplishments comes additional financial resources to continue moving forward in our teams robotics journey. We would greatly appreciate the continued support of our FRC 8573 Rogue Rangers Legacy in this advancement to the FRC FIRST World Championships. Your assistance would help greatly with support for our kids with the cost of registration fees, lodging for hotels, meals, and travel expenses from South Texas (Rio Grande Valley region) to Houston, TX. The event runs from Tuesday, April 19 - April 23, 2022. The cost of registration for advancement is$5,000 for the World Championship.
Thank You in advance for any assistance or donation to our Rogue Rangers Legacy #8573 Rookie Season. Your assistance is allowing our Rangers to keep chasing a Dream and have a fighting chance to prove they belong with the Best of the Best in the entire World. ⚡️

What is FRC?
FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) is a high school level robotics competition that is part of the FIRST organization preparing young people for the future Robotics, Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Under strict rules, limited time, and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get!
