FRC Team 484

Update:
Thanks to the generous support of our community with this GoFundMe we were able to send 7 students who otherwise wouldn't have attended and subsidize the cost for the remainder of the team! We had a great time and placed 23rd/78 in our division!
We will be keeping this GoFundMe up and tansitioning it to support our team's ongoing needs such as registration fees, robot parts, and shop upgrades. The team also accepts in-kind donations and business sponsorship partnerships. Check out our team website for more ways to support us at: http://team484.org/support-us

Hi!
FRC Team 484, Roboforce, is a FIRST Robotics team based out of Havertown, Pennsylvania. We have been competing since 1999. Each year we design, build, program, and iterate 120-pound robots that can compete in that year's challenge. (Learn more about us at: https://team484.org)
This year we had our most successful season yet! After gruelling weeks of meeting 20+ hours, 2 qualifying events, and a district championship we have qualified for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS for only the 2nd time in our history!
Some of our accomplishments from this year include:
- Won our first event ever at the Mt. Olive Qualifying event
- Won the Industrial Design Award for the first time since 2012
- Captained the 4th alliance the Bensalem Qualifying event
- Finalists at the FMA District Championship
Overall these accomplishments led us to rank 14th out of the 127 teams in the First Mid-atlantic District and earn us a spot in the upcoming World Championship in Houston, Texas.
In a continuing effort to improve our team's success, we are looking to our community for help. Some of our fundraising efforts will go to continuing improvements for the team including: robot supplies, shop upgrades, and off-season projects for training the upcoming class. We also believe the most important recipe for success is motivating and inspiring all of our students by sending them to the World Championships where they can learn from the top robots in the world. The travel costs per person are estimated at $1500 and we would love to be able to subsidize the cost as much as possible for all 24 of our students.
