We are the First Robotics Competition Team #2181 from Blaine High School, Minnesota. We train and compete in a nationwide robotics competition and make every effort to share our excitement for science and engineering with others in the community. Here at Blaine, we continue to increase our student participation and have many students who participate on our team from all over the state. All of the students on our team want to learn more about the real life applications of engineering and many stay with the program throughout their high school career.
We engineer our robot from ground up and create media presentations about its design and safety. Our student’s duties include mechanical and electrical design and fabrication of custom parts, programming, project management, safety and rules management, and media design. In 2009 as well as last year, we earned awards for the imagery of our robots which celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance. In 2013, we earned a quality award for the design of our robot which celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication. As well as in 2014, we earned the industrial design award for our robot which celebrates form and function in an efficiently designed machine that effectively addresses the game challenge. Last year at the 10,000 Lakes Regional Competition in the qualifying rounds, we were just a couple matches away from getting the opportunity to compete at the national competition in St. Louis, however this year we made it!! We are all very excited because this is the first time ever that Blaine has qualified to go and we have been a team for 10 years!!
Championship is being held on April 26th-29th, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri. Due to budget constraints we are asking for donations for our First Robotics Team. Your sponsorship funds would help contribute to transport the team and help competition registration fee of $5,000 dollars alone. Any amount that can be contributed to our team is greatly appreciated.
