Fred Banting memorial plaque Dury, France.

I am an independent researcher of the Great War and am a specialist of the happenings of September 2, 1918, on the Arras-Cambrai Road in France. With the help of local researchers, we identified the building from which a young Dr. Fred Banting operated a medical aid station near the Arras-Cambrai Road, in the quarries at a village called Dury. It took twelve years to identify.

I have started this fundraiser so we can mark the spot with a plaque. So, help me make this happen.

Dr. Banting shared the 1923 Nobel Prize for Medicine for his discovery of insulin.

Je me nomme Michel Gravel et je suis chercheur indépendant sur les combats qui ont eu lieu le long de la route Arras-Cambrai en France en 1918. Avec de l'aide de mes collaborateurs en France, nous avons identifié la bâtisse où le jeune docteur Banting a opéré un poste d'aide médical le 2 septembre 1918, dans les carrières de Dury. (Douze ans de recherches!)

J'entreprend cette levée de fond pour pour inaugurer une plaque commémorative au docteur Banting à Dury.

Banting a partagé le prix Nobel de la médecine en 1923 pour la découverte de l’insuline.
