Fred Wahl medical expenses

This GoFundMe is designed to help Fred and Lisa cover medical costs that are not covered by traditional insurance. Fred was diagnosed with a form of head and neck cancer in October of 2023. Squamous Cell Carcinoma, is a form that starts originating at the base of his tongue and spreading to near by lymph nodes in the neck. He started treatments of radiation 5 days a week along with chemotherapy 1 day a week in November. Treatments should end the last week of 2023. The radiation to his neck has destroyed his taste and smell and has burned the inside of his mouth and throat making it difficult to swallow or talk or eat. Recovery will take time for the lining of his mouth and throat to heal enough so that he can eventually eat solid food again. He has continued to try and work as much as he can so they can stay current on all of their bills. The last round of chemo and radiation will make him very sick, needing him to take time off of work. Rest is what the doctors are saying will help him heal the quickest. As Fred and Lisa travel through this process they are optimistic that Fred will come out on top.
